The ISO/IEC 10 006 is an international system that provides guidelines for applying quality management in the projects that an organization offers or is guided by. It is applicable to projects of varying complexity, small or large, short or long term, for different environments, regardless of the type of product or process. This can necessitate some tailoring of the guidance to suit a particular project.
This system is built by companies that are trying:
- to make their project management system more transparent
- to define project rules at the start of a project, during its course and during its evaluation
ISO 10 006, like the other systems, is built on the basis of ISO 9 001. Therefore, it is best to build both systems in an integrated manner, or to integrate ISO 10 006 into a previously established ISO 9 001 system.
